It was good at picking up pet hair from carpets. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of cat litter. While it's controllable via the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select a cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. These buttons can be used to create zones that are not allowed to be visited and to view real-time maps. It's also a bit chatty, and will inform you of what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or alert you when something isn't right. 4. ILIFE A4s This high-tech model is able to pick up pet hair, kibble and other particles with impressive effectiveness. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also has an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes, a self-emptying dock, and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. This robot did well in our tests of hardwood floors and food particles. It picked up everything, from a single rice grain to several dog food pieces, with only one swipe. It had some trouble with rugs but, generally speaking this vacuum cleaner is ideal for large rooms that contain both types of flooring as well as a mixture of pets. The A4s Pro is a bit expensive but it's an excellent purchase for those who want to to leave the house with no hands on so they can take on other tasks or do chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to take on difficult dirt or spills. It also includes a battery-powered ElectroWall to set boundaries for the robot. This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the cheapest we've tested and provides incredible value for money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not able to map rooms. This makes it less efficient as other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode was very effective in our tests by picking up hairs and other debris. 5. Shark iQ Shark's iQ isn't quite as robust as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It is more effective of cleaning low-pile carpet and bare floors. It also utilizes the smart-pathing software for better maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It allows you to suspend and resume cleaning sessions, making it perfect for homes that have pets. Its self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent tangles and can hold up to 30 days of dirt. It has a set angled side brushes to reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, dander and allergens. This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It is compatible with an app on your smartphone that lets you change the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning sessions ahead of time. The app allows you to view the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications for any problems it encounters during its cleaning session. You can control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark the boundaries of your area with physical boundary lines. The iQ does a good job of clearing bare floors and does a decent job on low-pile and shaggy carpet, but it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top selections.
